Last week I received my University results, which were (to put it nicely) dreadful. I can appreciate how badly I did in the exams, but my coursework should have been my saving grace, with consistently good grades through the year.
Except they weren't. I failed. On closer inspection though, this was due to an incorrect grade being put down for my Data Engineering coursework, and it brought the whole board down. What annoys me further is that the university are not answering phone calls or emails when I try to contact them about it, and I'm getting to the point of frustration now. Hopfully this will be sorted by the Graduation ceremony next week. Que sera, and all that.
In other news, I have been dabbling in a bit of this new fangled mod for that old dusty title ARMA II. You may have heard of it, it's what the cool kids are playing these days...
Seriously though, I have never played a game like it. It's interesting. At first I rejected it, then denied that I was enjoying it. But I tell you what, I haven't found any other game (zombie or otherwise) that makes you feel like you and your friends are the most unfortunate bastards stuck in the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on your back in an apocalypse scenario. Normally, I am the kind of person who plays games to unwind and enjoy a few hours of escapism. This stressed me out, it entered into my subconscious and drove me to be constantly thinking of my own survival.
I swear, I saw a guy stumbling in an empty construction site in Hyde earlier, and I honestly had to force myself to take a reality check and not jump into the nearest bush. Never has a game affected my real life self in such a way.

New bike has arrived!
This is excellent news for me, as my original 'imitation' downhill bike was definitely too heavy for the amount of uphill I do living in a valley. It has retired to the garage for the forseeable future, with 8 years use, and over 600 miles clocked up in the last 3 years
My new Diamondback Outlook FS arrived on Saturday, and I took it for it's maiden run up into Werneth Low.
And I crashed it.
Really. Werneth Low country park has some of my blood splattered near the visitors centre. If it's still there tomorrow morning, I might take a photo of it. Thankfully, the bike was unharmed, but I came away with a twisted shoulder and a few grazes and bruises.
Didn't stop me going back this morning though.
